The Tusker Kantha Appliqué hat features the intricate juxtaposition of two ancient Indian crafts: appliqué and kantha. Both the crafts developed as a means of mending old clothes in ancient India, and continue as traditions to date.
Appliqué applies colorful fabric to a base garment, whereas kantha features a running stitch throughout the length of the fabric.
This fabric is specially developed using a base of organic cotton, appliquéd with vintage bedspreads, along with a kantha stitch running along the length.
Each piece will be one-of-a-kind, with variations in color of the kantha stitch, and appliqué fabric, which is part of its characteristic as a handmade fabric.
